Inspiration…

As a teacher, I speak with my students about inspiration and the need for it on an almost daily basis. We find our inspirations in all different forms – from the masters, sure, but also from the innovators – those who are out there imagining and then putting themselves out there for all to see. We find it in museums and galleries, on the streets and an infinite amount of sites online. We all have our favorite forms, but sometimes it’s just as awesome to come upon something simply by chance…

Never has it been easier to find inspiration — between flickr and Pinterest, Facebook and 500px, Twitter and whatever else floats your boat, it’s just really easy to find some absolutely incredible work. It was through twitter that I recently was introduced to the time lapse photography of Brad Oskowski, or as his website is known, Charlie Moscow. A student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Brad specializes in “videography, video editing and motion graphics” according to his site – and from what can be seen in the video below, it appears that he has quite the future.

I’ve never dabbled in working with time lapsed images, but I can surely tell you that my curiosity has been stoked after watching this, “Steel City Sights: A Pittsburgh Time Lapse Project.”
