Cassidy – gymnast extraordinaire!

As some of you may know, I coach the Pole Vault for the Track and Field Team at Greensburg Salem. I am extremely fortunate to work with some great kids who are also unbelievably talented. Several of the girls I coach have a background in gymnastics, and it has helped them greatly in their development as pole vaulters. Yesterday I had the opportunity to catch one of these athletes, Cassidy, at her home gymnastics meet — and I was impressed to no end. I don’t even know how to accurately put in to words just how talented these young ladies are — you truly need to see it for yourself. The coaches at Westmoreland Gymnastics deserve a ton of credit. Beyond seeing the talent, I was very proud to hear so many of the younger gymnasts making comments about how much they look up to Cass — this is what it’s all about!

Beyond the cheese factor in that smile above, let me tell you about Cassidy in the bars. This was her last event, and, quite honestly, she had me scared to death — she didn’t have the best of warmups for the event and took a few falls in the process. But then it came time for the routine and she absolutely, positively nailed it — that’s the smile of “yeah, that’s right, I just CRUSHED that routine.”

2012 Year in Review

This is a post that I truly look forward to every year – mainly because I get the pleasure of sifting through my year’s worth of photographs and in the process relive each and every event. I have been just unbelievably fortunate to collaborate with some incredible people — that’s something that’s never lost on me. Whether it be a wedding, senior portraits, newborns, engagements or sports, it’s always something fun and I am just so thankful for each and every opportunity. Take a look through, there’s a lot to digest! Here’s to a great 2012 and an even better 2013!

2012 Greensburg Thanksgiving Turkey Trot!

What a beautiful day for an incredible event. The Greensburg Turkey Trot has continued to be a race that brings not only tremendous talent, but also thousands of runners and walkers to Greensburg in what has become an annual Turkey Day tradition for so many. Whether gunning for that sub 17 minute 5k or simply walking with your pooch, it’s a great day all around. Congratulations to those on this year’s committee for once again putting on a first rate event!

My vote for t-shirt of they year! Happy birthday, Todd!

Steelers’ Camp with the Sniders – 8.13.12

I have a hard time believing that there are NFL teams with as loyal a following as the Steelers’ – and this can definitely be seen when visiting their Training Camp at St. Vincent College. Add in the Steelers’ Experience, and you’re looking at a great time all around…

It was family day for the players and I happened to catch Isaac Redman with his son.

The Pirate Parrot visits SWG Adaptive Baseball…

I’ve ranted and raved about how a Sunday evening can become a GREAT Sunday evening when you take in an Adaptive Baseball Game at Southwest Greensburg Recreation, but it takes on a whole new level when the Pirate Parrot makes his annual visit! Hopefully, you’ve seen the Parrot entertaining the crowd at PNC Park in person – he does a great job – but to see him in person working his magic with a group of appreciative kids is just an incredible sight.
